Hey Washington, Bring Back the Warthogs

The Washington Warthogs where a short lived professional indoor soccer team located in Washington, D.C. The Warthogs played their games in the U.S. Airways Arena and where owned by Abe Pollin who purchased the CISL expansion franchise in 1993 for a cost of $150,000.

The franchise played from 1993-1997 and featured such names as Kristen Lilly, Jim Gabarra, and Baltimore Blast all-time leading point scorer Denison Cabral (709 points).

With the recent rise in resurgence in the popularity of professional indoor soccer maybe a team will make it's home in D.C. again some day soon? Come on Ted (Leonsis) bring back the Warthogs!

You can LIKE the Washington Warthog page on Facebook HERE, or better yet find Ted Leonsis on Twitter @TedLeonsis and show him there is support in D.C. for the return of professional indoor soccer.
