Independence, MO - At the Independence, MO, City Council meeting scheduled for 6 p.m. on Monday, May 16, Mayor Don Reimal is expected to issue a Proclamation to congratulate the Comets Professional Indoor Soccer Team on their inaugural season. The Comets franchise was re-established last summer and began play this past November at the Independence Events Center. After overcoming a slow start to the season, the Comets came within one game from playing in the MISL Championship Game.
